Year in Review

Here are my Year in Review Pages for the boys from Last year. I have been printing these and hanging them on the wall for a couple of years and I do love them. I love seeing the way the boys change in the course of one year of course I also lament how big they get in just one year as well but it is so fun to see photos from every month all together.

A little quiet

There are many mornings that I get up and listen to a sermon. I like to start the day with the Word of God permeating my mind and my soul. I don't start every morning like this but there are many that I do. Some mornings I listen to a chapter or so of an audio book, a new favorite pastime of mine, listening to audio books while I sew, scrapbook, or edit pictures. However this morning I don't want the extra imput I just want to enjoy the last remaining moments of quiet before the day gets noisy.

Cut finger

Yesterday I cut my finger.
It started as a normal Monday morning, wishing it were still the weekend, so Jonah would be staying home, feeling a little tired, and getting into the normal weekday schedule- just a normal Monday morning. We had gone on a "Bagel venture" on Sunday, this is an adventure in which we go to get Bagels :). So I decided to give the boys the left over bagels for breakfast. Did you know that left over bagels from a bagel shop are much harder than bagels for the grocery store? I learned this yesterday. I had to kind of push the knife through the bagel, on the second one I cut, I think I pushed a little too hard and got my finger in the process. It hurt. It bled a lot! Thankfully Jonah was still home because the sight of blood makes me nauseous and I seem to have a low tolerance to pain. So my tough guy bandaged up my finger while I tried hard not to pass out. The cut was pretty bad I guess on the border of needing stitches but I hate to go and get two stitches for something if I can avoid it, so my wonderful husband picked up some fingertip band aids for me and now my ugly, cut finger is bandaged up and feeling better, unless it gets bumped or kicked as it did this morning while trying to get my exuberant 3 year old dressed.
I still don't like to look at my finger or think of how it happened. . . I guess there is a reason that I am not a nurse and don't work in health care. God Bless those of you who do!

Snow Stitchery

My Stitchery for January is done and up. I realize that it is the 20th but better late than never right? February's stitchery is almost completed as well. I do enjoy doing these I used to dislike the idea of sewing by hand but I love these seeing these hanging on my wall and find in calming to sit and sew by hand, maybe one day after all of this practice I will have stitches that would make my grandmother proud!

3 Year old Boy

This little guy is 3 today! It is hard to believe that he has only been part of our family for three short years. He was defiantly a surprise but what a sweet little surprise he was!
He loves to make us laugh, likes hugs and kisses, sucks his thumb while holding his blue blankie and talks to his blankie like it is a person. He has grown into such a big boy this year and loves the fact that he is big like Will now, and for goodness sakes don't call him a baby anymore! He has a big heart and is a wonderful gift from God! Happy Birthday Jakey!

New Lamps

I wanted to show you you the new lamps we received from Jonah's Dad for Christmas. Jonah had made us new end tables a few weeks ago so D decided to make us these beautiful new lamps to go on them. I am not sure the picture really does it justice. I do love them, such a thoughtful gift, they were my favorite gift of the year.

December Photo of the Day and New Year's Eve

I am a bit behind here but I am still in busy mode as we have two birthdays to celebrate this week and I am working on a couple of things for my little niece who also has a birthday this month I will be happy when all of the celebrating is done! LOL. Anyway here are my photos of the day for December.

I loved this project, I was able to capture some moments that I would have missed otherwise and I got to practice with my camera a ton, which was great. I am taking a break from the project for now but I might do a photo a day in May when the lovely Spring light and warmth have returned.

We spent New Year's Eve at K & D's it was a wonderful time with family. We spent the evening visiting, eating great food, and celebrating the end of year and K's Birthday. We also took a few family photos after dinner. It is hard to get little boys to sit still in low light so that there is no motion blur but we got a couple of cute ones.

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve and are enjoying a great start to the New Year. I will be back to post pictures of Christmas, birthdays etc, etc
