Going to the Zoo

We took the boys to the zoo yesterday, for Will's Birthday. His birthday is not actually until Wednesday, but the Wheather service is predicting snow and 31 degrees so we decided to take our trip yesterday. It is not a terribly long drive to the zoo from our house, about 30 min, but the boys don't really seem to like to be in the car all that much so by the time we pulled into the parking lot Jake was crying and Will was saying, "Nigh, Night? Ok?" At this point it is only 9:30 A.M. so not really time for his nap yet (since he doesn't actually take it until about 1:00). I tell him not right now it is only 9:30. Well this cause a complete melt down and he starts to cry, those big sad tears. I tell him to look around, and ask him where we are. He says, "Zebra, Giraffes?" Now he is happy and ready to go! And once Jake is out of his carseat he is also a happy guy. Jonah took all of the pictures, I din't even touch the camera once, which was kind of nice. So I will tell you about our trip with his great pictures:

I love this one. I thought Great Jonah has the camera I can get a nice picture with both boys. Nope. Notice the rolled eyes and slightly annyoed look. Love this it so perfectly captures what I was feeling and honestly what I feel like a lot. Oh well at least we are all in the picture!

The first thing we always do is feed the Giraffes. Will likes the idea of feeding them but is a little scared of actually feeding them but he did give a cracker to one of them but wouldn't do anymore. Jake has no such reservations yet but he would like to eat the cracker himself.

I love this picture! The giraffe is licking the pavement and Will goes right up to him and says "No no licking the floor" So funny we tell peanut this all the time so I guess he thought it was the same thing.

So a bit later we went into the bird exhibit. Not a real big fan of the birds but Jonah wanted to to take some pictures. Will walks in there goes straight for the box with the sticks of birdseed on them grabs one and starts to head into the area with the birds. Can you tell we have been here before? Then we head for the petting zoo area where Will gets to pet a bunny. This obiously made an impact because he kept telling me on the way home,"Careful, scare bunny"

One more try at a group shot
It was a great day! It wore everyone out though we all came home and took naps!

So big!

So Thursday Will Climed up in Jake's highchair (Will's old highchair) and wanted me to put the tray on. Then he asked for some cheerios and puts Jake's bib on. So he sits there for a few minutes happily eating his cheerios. Of course I grab the camera because he looks so big sitting there and I can't help but remember him sitting there just a year ago drinking a bottle and now he is getting in the chair all by himself. My little guy is definatly not a baby anymore. Anyway he sat there for a while but then I started to clean the kitchen and he wanted down so he could have a wipe and help me clean.

Thankful

Wow can you believe that Thanksgiving is this week? Will also turns two this week. He is getting so big I can hardly believe it. He is talking up a storm, putting words and concepts together like crazy. Jake is trying really hard to walk and can take four or five steps at a time (will put video up later). He says uh, oh, can wave bye, bye and is the cutest 10 month old Jakey in the whole world!
More on all the things I am Thankful for but for now I am thankful for all of the guys in my life. My wonderful husband, my two precious boys, and my ever faithful puppy. Seriously who could really ask for anything more?

Cousins

The boys got to play with their Cousin Laeleigh this weekend. It was so fun to watch the three of them together. At one point Will went over to Jake took the toy he was playing with away walks over to Laeleigh and gives the toy to her. I had to say that's not nice and awww that's so nice all in the same sentence!

Here are the three of them all together (aren't they cute!). It was nearly impossible to get them to all sit together let alone look at the camera at the same time. However the result is still adorable!

Here are a couple of Laeleigh. Look at that sweet little face!

Brothers

Here are some cute pictures from an impromptu photo shoot. Jake was laying in the grass and Will laid beside him, I ran to get the Camera ;)

October

Wow, it seemed like October just flew by! We really did some fun fall things this year. It is so nice to be able to do fun activities with Will (oh and NOT to be pregnant!) We went to the Rock Ledge Ranch and picked Pumpkins. I wonder what was going through Jake's mind when we set him in the middle of the pumpkin patch by a pumpkin.

"UMMMM what are we doing?
Oh Maybe I should eat this!"
It was alot of fun geared a little more to bigger guys but they have horses and pigs and ducks which Will loved.

We made Decorated Sugar cookies with Will for the first time. I think he ate MANY more cookies than he actually decorated. But that is most of the fun anyway. He really like doing the sprinkles.

We carved the pumpkins that we got. This was really fun I guess I had never actually carved a pumpkin. Will helped as much as we would let him. And was very serious about scrapping the goo out of the pumpkin. Somehow he got pumpking all over himself, his hands, arms, even his face which was really funny.

It was a really fun month. Now we are gearing up for Birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas . . . OH MY. This sould be fun. I am getting so excited as this is the first Holiday Season that we will have both boys here and will be able to do some fun things. I will be sure and add lots of pictures!

Sharing a Snack

This is a picture from September. Jake was crying, because he was sad and hungry (sad, sad Jakey as will likes to say these days). So will went and laid down beside him to eat his snack before bedtime. Sometimes he is the sweetest little guy.
